Today’s Generation Part 1

Filed under: World, Politics, Rant — Eric Huang @ 5:52 pm

Today’s generation is much different from the last generation. From the movies, comic books (more like online comics and mangs), and video games the world is a much different place…or is it? I just finished reading The Lexus and the Olive Tree, Thomas Friedman, and it brought a lot of questions to my mind. Is today’s world truely much different at least in the inside from the end of the Versialle age? Also, what is the future of the United States in the world? Will the US be able to mantain it’s hold on the world through it’s military and influence or will it fall to the UK, Russia, China, Japan, or any other similar country to lead the world? Currently, the US is the main super power in the world, not to say that the other countries like the UK, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, and others aren’t influencial but as of right now, and since the end of the cold war the US has led the world in advancing globilization.

The End Of The Solar System?

Filed under: World — Eric Huang @ 2:54 pm

That’s right folks, Pluto has offically been stripped of it’s planet classification! From the NY Times:“After years of wrangling and a week of bitter debate, astronomers voted on a sweeping reclassification of the solar system. In what many of them described as a triumph of science over sentiment, Pluto was demoted to the status of a “dwarf planet.”

In the new solar system, there are eight planets, at least three dwarf planets and tens of thousands of so-called “smaller solar system bodies,” like comets and asteroids.

Oh Boy, Exploding Battery Woes

Filed under: World, Computers — Eric Huang @ 12:44 pm

Read This Article on SMH. Jeez, first no lipgloss, lipstick, shampoo, and baby formula. Now laptop batteries are the new target of airlines! Why question is why target only Dell? Isn’t that a bit discriminate as any laptop with any battery can randomly explode? Anyone seen those blown up Macbooks? Yes, it’s true any laptop left on for extended periods of time or in the wrong place can overheat and explode! It’s not just Dell, yet they are only targeting them… Odd. This was first posted at Gizmodo.

News Stories That Aren’t News Stories

Filed under: World — Eric Huang @ 8:02 am

Well, great now we suppossingly have this half-insane person coming all the way from Thailand for some murder of a 6 year old girl. The first thing that bugs me, is that everyone refers to the girl as the “6-year-old beauty pageant contestant,” as CNN states. Just what the hell, who gives a crap about the girl being in a beauty pagent? I certaintly don’t care, why do they have to keep bringing that up?

And then, those beauty pagents are just sick also. Imagine dressing your child, I mean little child, in outlandish clothes two gerenations way ahead of her age and then showing her off you some retard judges. Meantime they get to jiggle their bodies and show off what? I mean, what do they have to show off? There freaking 6 years old! If it was a real model, well then that would be a different story wouldn’t it.

Is It The Right Decision?

Filed under: World, Politics — Eric Huang @ 8:56 pm

Remember when everyone was complaining about how “we” invaded Iraq for no reason? Well, guess what after several years were still there. I think the biggest thing military leaders forget when invading a foreign country is that often the people your invading don’t think your so great for “liberating” them. I mean well, let’s start with the basics, was there a good reason to invade Iraq? President Bush stated that Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons. After we invaded US troops found no weapons of mass destruction, so either he never had them or Saddam hide them. In my opinion the “real” reasons were:

1) Create a American stronghold in the MiddleEast
2) Establish the first “Democracy” in the MiddleEast
3) Get easy access to OIl
4) Put pressure on the “terrorist” countries, Iran, Syria, etc
