To Whoever is Spamming This Blog

Filed under: ThinkPoint Blog, Web — Eric Huang @ 3:25 pm

Dear Spammer,

Would you mind as if to stop completly your spamming of my comments?  As you know I have to personally hand approve each comment, and so I’m wondering why you even bother to submit them as I delete them as soon as I get them…  I’ve even attempted to ban your IP addresses, however I have seen you switch IPs suggesting that your using dummy computers to spam with.  Such bad behavior!

Your Spamming is almost driving me insane and it takes me much effort to write anything on this blog anymore becuase of you.  So I will ask again nicely, please cease and desist your needless spamming or else I’ll take down the comments form.  Thank you,

Have a nice day!
Eric Huang

Small Blogs Network Is Now LIVE!

Filed under: ThinkPoint Blog, Web — Eric Huang @ 5:29 pm

WOHO! Finally, I can get that out of my system! It took my several weeks and days to get that site up and running at the fuctionaility it is at, at the moment. There’s still some minor bugs and kinks in the system I think, however it should be quite complete and ready to go. It’s compatable with I think every major browser including IE6, Firefox, and Opera. I haven’t tested Safari, but it should be okay. Otherwise, I’m quite happy I finished this project at last. I hope it’ll help me get more noticed out here in the CyberWeb. SmallBlogsNetwork (Click HERE)

I suggest you all go and check it out yourselves, if you have any comments or complaints either list them here or email me through the submission from on the website. Thanks, a bunch!

A New Project

Filed under: Personal, Web — Eric Huang @ 3:40 pm

I’ve been thinking of creating a new project for a long long time…  Small Blogs Network, is my next project I intend to build.  The main purpose of this new site will be to help small blogs to attract visitors to their sites.  The main reason I’m intending to do this is further expand my knowledge of CSS/XHTML and at the same time learn how to use a CMS to accomplish this.

I’m still in the design phase, however once I come up with a draft mockup, I’ll ask some of my peers to give some advice on it.  In the meantime I’ll also looking for a solution that I could use to power the backend behind the web gallery.  Hopefully I will find one that will fit my needs.  After that is all done, I intend to put the site online using my current host, Media Temple (Who I really liked their service) and on the domain smallblogsnetwork.com.  Also, I’ve already registered the .com TLD so no stupid spammers can take it before me!  Hah, take that!  Anyhow, if you have any suggestions or comments or just want to get your blog on the front page as soon as it’s finished, send me an email!  Use my contact form on this page, thanks!

The Horrors of the Web Part 2

Filed under: Web, Rant — Eric Huang @ 8:00 pm

Remember part 1? Yeah, that was awhile back but I thought I’d go ahead and finish this 2 part series. Well, since I talked about MySpace last time, this time I’ll talk about spammers and scammers.

First thing I’ll talk about is ad-farms… You know those sites where it’s just a bunch of ads and they try to put cookies on your computer so they can send you spam. Yes, I bet you all have visited them by accident whether you’ve typed in a wrong URL or clicked on a google ad or something. There only purpose on the web is to get money to the owner by spaming the webpage with ads.

ThinkPoint Portfolio featured on CSS Mania!

Filed under: ThinkPoint Blog, Personal, Web, Design — Eric Huang @ 9:32 am

Cool, I did submit my blog to several galleries before hand, but that was before I got it XHTML valid. It won’t however ever be CSS valid becuase of the hacks and whatnot I have to use to get the site working in IE. However, it is still pretty damn cool that I was featured in CSS Mania! My site recieved a score of 7 which seems on the good to average area. Hurrah!
